Change the Beat Makes London Debut at fabric With 40+ Music Industry Figures & Brands Across Panels, Networking, Exhibition & Club Night

Change the Beat, the global non-profit dedicated to supporting women and gender expansive artists in electronic music, will make its London debut at fabric on Thursday, October 15th, with 40+ artists, industry leaders and organisations joining forces to create greater access, opportunities and representation across electronic music.

Running from 3PM–3AM, the programme includes industry panels, networking mixer, the Women Who Shaped Electronic Music photo exhibition and a dedicated club event in fabric’s Main Room. With a focus on bringing artists, labels, agencies, promoters and organisations together to share knowledge, build relationships and create more opportunities for women and gender-expansive artists.

Hosted by Sunita Dhaliwal (The Everyday Agency), the daytime programme features three panels tackling key areas of building a career in electronic music:

How to Get Booked as a DJ in London, moderated by Katie Knight with Alex Holland (Broadwick Live), Martha Bolton (Not Bad For A Girl), Pete Jordan (Junction 2 / LWE) and Steven Braines (HE.SHE.THEY).

How to Get Signed to an A-List Dance Label, moderated by Sydney Blu with Andy Henderson (Southern Fried / Knee Deep In Sound), Chris Goss (Hospital Records), Miles Shackleton (Toolroom) and Daniel Curpen (Anjunadeep).

How to Get Representation: Managers & Agents, moderated by Finlay Johnson with Frances Shillito (Night Department), Kal Jhugroo (CAA), Shanae Dennis (The Team) and Lucy Harrower (Frame Artists).

Across the three sessions, artists will get practical insight into bookings, A&R, labels, management and agency representation, directly from the people working across each area of the industry.

Sydney Blu, Founder, Change the Beat comments:

“Bringing Change the Beat to fabric is a huge moment for us. We’ve built this event around what we believe artists genuinely need – access to the people shaping the industry, honest conversations about how it works, and real opportunities to build relationships. To have so many respected artists, labels, agencies and organizations coming together under one roof in London is incredibly exciting, and it represents exactly what Change the Beat was created to do: open doors, build community and create more opportunities for the next generation of electronic music artists.”

From 7PM–10PM, the Change the Beat industry mixer will take place in association with AFEM, Pete Tong DJ Academy, Not Bad For A Girl and Beatport, bringing artists and industry professionals together to connect and network. The mixer will also create a live performance opportunity, with emerging DJs from Not Bad For A Girl and Pete Tong DJ Academy selected to play alongside N1NJA.

The evening will also host the Women Who Shaped Electronic Music photo exhibition, celebrating 18 pioneering artists including ANNA, Annie Mac, Crystal Waters, DJ Minx, DJ Paulette, DJ Rap, Eli & Fur, Honey Dijon, Ida Engberg, Lottie, Lisa Lashes, Maya Jane Coles, Nicole Moudaber, Sam Divine, Sister Bliss (Faithless), Smokin Jo, Superjane and Ultra Naté.

From 10PM–3AM, the event moves into fabric’s Main Room with TSHA, Kitty Amor, Sydney Blu, Emily Nash and N1NJA.

Proceeds from the club night will support Change the Beat’s international artist development programme, providing education, mentorship and opportunities for women and gender-expansive artists, as the organisation works towards its pledge to support 300 artists in securing label opportunities by 2028.

The fabric event and London debut marks the next stage in Change the Beat’s international growth, building a stronger global network between artists, industry and opportunity.
